Looks like our home-grown, no-growth movement is getting their wish. They’ve helped create a climate that is hostile to new business, the lack of which has substantially reduced City revenue, which leads the City to cut back on services to developers…and now even to visitors. Pretty soon, the Keep Petaluma for Ourselves crowd will have the uncrowded streets and empty seats at Peets that they crave. Of course, the lack of City revenue will mean that our schools will become overcrowded, police and fire services will be under-staffed and the roads will begin to crumble… Wait, that’s already happening. There’s “civics” in action for you. Maybe Obama will save us…
