I strongly doubt that I will be around for the disinterring of the time capsule some 50 years hence, but I’m sure Petaluma will be very much alive. I’m also sure that our beloved town will be about as different then from now, as it is today from 50 years ago – many changes, but still very recognizable. Of course, lots of things we take for granted will have mutated, perhaps dramatically, but I don’t expect that there will be a lot of genuine OMG. In the preceding 50 years the only really “new” thing has been the Internet. Personally, I think that a time traveler from 1958 would be more comfortable in 2058. Come to think of it, I am that time-traveler…
