You got to hand it to the opponents of the impending Indian Casino in Rohnert Park, not that they’ve been dealt a fair hand to begin with. However, other communities – while failing to prevent the imposition of a casino into their backyard – have through diligent effort been able to reduce the casino’s size and some of the negative impact. Many have argued that the laws that Congress established which have allowed Native Americans to flout local restrictions on gambling are meant to help struggling tribes, even though they’ve caused no end of unintended consequences. One such consequence may be that the local tribes are about one casino away from extinguishing White Guilt in the North Bay.
