It’s that time of year again to tend to our favorite tidal slough…the Petaluma River. This has to be done with care. Some past efforts – albeit well-intentioned – have lead to disastrous consequences. Remember when the ardent cleaning in the area adjacent to Payran Street – once a bottle neck that caused that area to flood – allowed flood waters to descend on the unsuspecting neighborhoods downstream. In any case, best wishes and best of luck to all who brave the muck and jellyfish in an effort to keep Petaluma’s principal geographic feature looking her best.
