To their credit, local citizens took seriously last summer’s pleas to conserve water. In fact, they took requests to cut back their water use so seriously that the County water agencies’ revenues plummeted as a result. To reward us all for our frugality an our concern for the ecology – not to mention our taking their recommendations seriously – the agency now plans to charge us more money in order to compensate itself for the shortfall in revenue. Let’s see…using less water costs us more money. Hmmm. Proof yet again that those who put forth ideas to support our ecology should spend some time studying that other “eco” science…economics.
