Shortly after man learned how to walk he became a nomad. Since then, we’ve become sedentary to the point that walking is no longer a mandatory survival skill but a form of recreation. Likewise, camping evolved from “how we lived” to how some of us recreate…an escape from everyday comforts. However, a small number of folks – thanks to drugs, poverty or orneriness and despite the services of COTS, PPS, the Salvation Army and a number of other services – continue the peripatetic, al fresco lifestyle. This Saturday some hearty volunteers are going to Luchessi Park to clean up after these latter-day nomads.
